The Egri Csillag is a local white field blend crafted in memory of the ancient wayfarers who followed the glittering star ("Egri Csillag") on their way to Eger. Egri Csillag must be comprised of at least 4 grapes, with at least 50% of the wine coming from native grapes.
Gál Tibor's Egri Csillag from 2024 is medium-bodied, vivid and juicy. It has flavors of pear, golden apples, lemon peel, dried flowers and beeswax, with an elegant minerality on the palate. Fermentation took place in stainless steel, and the wine remained on the lees for 4 months.
30% Olaszrizling, 20% Leányka, 20% Viognier, 10% Szürkebarát, 10% Pinot Blanc, 10% Chardonnay.
