Gál Tibor
KADARKA
2023
The Gál Tibor Winery is located in the Eger region of northeast Hungary. They sustainably farm 40 hectares on the Nagy-Eged hill and its surroundings, and are an important player in developing the identity of the modern Eger wine region.
Kadarka is an ancient red Hungarian variety that is scarcely planted in Hungary today. Before communism, Kadarka was Hungary's most planted red variety. Today, there are only 325 hectares of planted Kadarka in Hungary, and in Eger where Gál Tibor has his vines the grape is particularly rare. Titi's Kadarka is characteristically spicy, with red fruits and a refreshing palate. Loads of red strawberry and rosehip on the nose, with spiced sour cherry, raspberry and baking spice on the palate. Spontaneous fermentation and aging in stainless steel tank for 6 months. Unfiltered and unfined, vegan.
