Somlói Vándor's Hárslevelű comes from old vines on the distinctively volcanic soils of Somló, an extinct volcanic butte located north of Lake Balaton. The soil is black basalt with rich clay. The 2023 vintage was rainy and hot, so the yields were extremely low, especially for Hárslevelű.
On the palate, dried apricot and herbal flavors are accompanied by an overwhelmingly powerful salty finish. Spontaneous fermentation, and aging on the lees for 8 months in stainless steel (90%) and used Hungarian oak barrels (10%). Unfiltered and unfined, vegan, and certified organic.
