Filep
ROSÉ BRUT
NV
Father and son winemakers Miklós and Gergely Filep make exceptional dry wines on their tiny 2-hectare estate in Tállya, Tokaj. The vines are between 30 and 90 years old. Gergely’s low-intervention style of winemaking is perfect for showcasing the incredible geological diversity of Tallya and its surrounding areas. Their first vintage was in 2016.
This method traditionnelle Brut Rosé is a special edition wine, a combination of Furmint grapes from Tokaj and Pinot Noir from Eger (where Filep also makes wine).
Grapes were harvested by hand in September 2020. Gentle whole bunch pressing was followed by spontaneous fermentation with native yeasts on the lees for 6 months in steel tank before bottling and secondary fermentation. The wine was then aged in bottle on the lees for 46 months before disgorgement in January 2025.
The wine has a bright acidity and a creamy leesy texture, with flavors like wild strawberry, raspberry and watermelon on the nose and palate. 99% Furmint, 1% Pinot Noir. Organic farming, unfiltered and unfined, vegan.
