KÉKFRANKOS

2022

Gergő Filep has been making white wine in the village of Tállya in Tokaj with his father for 6 years, but in 2022 he decided to make a red: a Kékfrankos in his second home of Eger, 100 km southeast of Tokaj.

This Kékfrankos hails from the prestigious Nagy-Eged hill, rich in limestone soil and the highest point for winemaking in Hungary. The wine is smoky, jammy and zippy, with muddled raspberry, black cherry and cloves. Spontaneously fermented in open vats, and aged on the lees in a Speidel tank for microoxidation for 10 months. Unfiltered and unfined. Practicing organic.
