Jász Laci

SÁGI NARANCS

2021

This orange Olaszrizling hails from the Sághegy, a tiny volcanic butte in western Hungary that was formed about 5 million years ago. Sághegy belongs to the Somló wine region; as on the neighboring Somló hill, the soil is primarily volcanic tuff and basalt. Jász Laci’s vineyard is in an area that locals call the “Valley of the Fairies”.

"Sági Narancs" (“orange wine from Ság”) is a medium-bodied, aromatic skin contact wine. It has flavors of allspice, nutmeg and dried tropical fruits on the nose. The palate is bright citrus and tangerine with a long dark finish. Fermentation was spontaneous with native yeasts in stainless steel. The wine spent 3 months on the skins and remained on the lees until bottling. Unfiltered and unfined, low sulfur added.
