BADASS PÉT-NAT

2021

Attila Pálffy is a seventh generation winemaker in the Hungarian village of Köveskál, north of Lake Balaton. P.A.N.K. (Pálffy Attila Nemes Köveskál) is the natural wine project of Attila and his fiancée Orsolya, comprised solely of small-batch, low-intervention wines made in experimental styles.

The BadAss is the super limited Syrah Rosé Pét-Nat from 2021.  Grown on the Mező Mál vineyard in Köveskál, the slope faces south and is rich in limestone, volcanic basalt soil, and red sandstone soils. After grapes were harvested by hand in mid-September, there was whole cluster pressing, and fermentation was spontaneous and extremely lengthy. The wine was left unfiltered, unfined and not disgorged. The resulting Pét-Nat is earthy, fruity and rich, with purple berry fruits and spice.

Zero sulfur added.  Certified organic farming, no pesticides or herbicides. 503 bottles produced.
