TR TÁLLYA RADICALS
Anikó Kada, Pál Szamosújvári and Dénes Uliczki
Wine Region: Tokaj
Village: Tállya
Tállya Radicals, aka TR Wines, are a group of four wine enthusiast friends - Anikó, Dénes, János and Pál - focused on rejuvenating the winemaking scene in Tállya, Tokaj. They founded their winery in 2012. The group owns a 3.5 hectare estate in the Palota vineyard in Tállya, and 1 hectare on the Szent Tamás vineyard in Mád. They were certified organic in 2020.
Their wines coming from the Palota vineyard follow the style of the new generation of Tokaj vintages, with youthful vigor and lighter tones. The Palota's volcanic terroir of andesite, rhyolite, zeolite and quartz presents a perfect minerality for the wines, and its exposure provides the right balance between acidity and sugar.
The TR's goal is to spread the winemaking history of Tokaj, and to show the capabilities of the volcanic terroir and the indigenous grapes, Furmint and Hárslevelű.
Winery Size: 4.5 Hectares
Grapes: Furmint, Hárslevelű
Soil and Terroir: Volcanic tuff, rich in rhyolite, zeolite and bentonite
